Whoa! At the end of the video when your jamming in different time signatures, I see George Washington in your shirt. Look at your right shoulder, under where your posting the time signatures.

    Hey man
    really appreciate the videos
I love progressive and have been trying to improve my songwriting in the genre
The hardest part for me has been breaking the generic major key habits
Any tips for that besides listening to more progressive?
I feel like experimenting with scales couldn’t hurt.

One of my favorite bands is Tool. I really get a trip listening to the complex melodies and time signatures, but what gets me most are the profound lyrics. Would you be able to make a tutorial on how to write lyrics such as those?

@rurens2 Nope I didn’t paint that. It’s a picture of New York Times Square. I can look more into the title since it’s in storage right now.

@uponaburningman To play an instrument varies.
the examples you gave are just the universally excepted ways. I have many friends who play the guitar laying it down on there lap.
I’m from brazil and most musicians here don’t even use picks 🙂

@uponaburningman everybody has their own style, there is no right or wrong way.

Hey, yeah you really said a lot of words that don’t teach anybody anything because you didn’t play any examples and break them down. Also, your technique in your picking hand is terrible. number 1: do not hold the pick with your middle finger. number 2: use your wrist to alternate pick, not your thumb and finger. you should practice more before you try to teach.

@UKRCyanide umm there’s a few ways, I could give you the Guitar Pro file or the MIDI file (MIDI can be played on Windows Media Player or whatever player), but I might have to cut out a bit of the song, because it’s over 13 minutes long and giving away too much would ruin the mystique 🙂
